This month's issue of Hagukumi will focus on the trainees’ impressions of "XlamV 1st LIVE -To You-,” XlamV’s first live that was held on the 12th.
Taiyou: I’m glad we can talk about what we thought about the live!
Cion: Since we had decided to speak at Hagukumi, everyone had kept their opinions to themselves until today.
Futaba: Fufufu… That’s right.
Mio: Shoot! We know we’re able to talk today, so Futaba’s self control will…!
Kazu: It’ll shut down…?!
Futaba: That day, that night, that place! Do you know how much I have wanted to share my thoughts?! Do you understand how it felt to still be in agony from the excitement after leaving the fort arena and having to decide whether or not to grab a fan from the audience and ask them if you can have a moment of their time?!
Cuc: Futaba, calm down and make some mochi. There, there.
Futaba: Bam, bam… How will making mochi like that help?!
Rey: An excellent retort despite your excitement. Wonderful as always, Futaba!
Taiyou: Okay, okay! Everyone has a bunch of things they want to talk about, so let’s get started~.
Futaba: Firstly, the time after the venue opens is my favorite time in the world!
Kazu: You’re starting from there?!
Mio: Wait, you're talking about the part before the live starts, and not the actual live?
Futaba: Eh, is that not what we’re supposed to do? I was going to talk about how I got on the train after lessons and headed to the venue…
Mio: That’ll take so long! We’re going to talk about the live!
Rey: Aren’t you a bit curious about Futaba’s preparations for the concert battlefield?
Mio: Sure I am, but!
Cion: For the sake of the page, we’d like to start at the beginning of the live. We’ll talk about Futaba’s preparations another time…
Futaba: Is that so? I understand.
Taiyou: The excitement of the opening was amazing!
Mio: I know~~~! I got goosebumps…
Cuc: Futaba was crying at that point…
Rey: Isn’t that a bit too swift?
Futaba: I’m sorry… The tears just burst out.
Taiyou: I know. Starting out with Said that was so cool.
Cuc: Nagomu was super good at dancing!
Mio: Ah, right? I was surprised to see Issei dancing so well too…
Cion: So all of us were looking at our rivals, huh? (laugh)
Kazu: I was only ever looking at Nagomu-nii-san, though.
Rey: Were you? Lion’s solo part impressed you, did it not?
Kazu: … Shut up.
Futaba: I understand. I really understand how everyone feels. We just don’t have enough eyes! I’ve never wanted sixteen eyeballs more; one pair to see everything in full view and seven pairs to watch everyone individually.
Kazu: Don’t bring a monster into the venue.
Futaba: By the way, we were graciously invited to the second showing of the live, and this was the set list.
1. Said that
2. A.S.A.P
3. what about love
4. Our Sora
5. Mikan
6. You&Me
7. This is my way
8. Groovy Night
9. Go My Own Way
10. From Me
Cion: From the strength and passionate messages from each member shown in “Said that” to the heavy rhythm of “A.S.A.P,” the excitement in the venue was through the roof.
Mio: It’s a really intense song, but Auguri’s pretty high notes really hook you in with how pleasing they are to your ears.
Futaba: Exactly! Auguri-san’s high harmonies are just the best… Now that I’ve heard them live, my hearing and eyesight have tremendously improved!
Cuc: No doctor needed with Auguri!
Futaba: Precisely!
Taiyou: Then they sang “what about love” after the MC segment. I wanna talk about that part too~.
Cion: Jintarou really was making a lot of noise the entire time (laugh)
Kazu: I’m glad Jintarou didn’t act any different from his usual.
Mio: The cheers when Lion and Issei’s picture showed up were crazy (laugh)
Rey: The yells coming from all sides could rightfully be described as yellow.
Taiyou: I was really surprised! I thought something came to get us (laugh)
Cuc: Yellow voices… Issei and Lion, blue and white… Ha! Nagomu’s voice?
Mio: Sorry, that’s not what that means.
Futaba: The audience’s excitement knew no bounds as we transitioned from the heart wrenching love song to Our Sora and then Mikan. I thought I was going to tear my arm off while waving my penlight.
Kazu: Good thing you didn’t.
Rey: It became even more exciting when they performed their new song “You&Me” for the first time at the venue.
Cuc: Futaba couldn’t stop his tears.
Futaba: Uu… I’m sorry. Please excuse me for crying the whole time. I want to be a creature without feelings.
Cion: Please stay as you are!
Kazu: This is completely unrelated, but I liked hearing the cheers during the MC segments. They were going, “You’re doing great!” and they sounded like a mom praising her son.
Futaba: I understand. I am Auguri-san's mother and father too. (?)
Taiyou: The call and response was also perfect. Every time everyone spoke, the audience would listen to what they had to say, and it was great to feel like the whole audience was creating the live with their own hands.
Rey: It was a bit saddening when “Groovy Night” came after “This is my way.” Then, just as I felt like such a fun time was coming to an end, the encore came.
Futaba: Going from “Go My Own Way” to “From Me” was just so, sooo perfect!!
Kazu: It was great that the setlist made a complete story, or rather, felt whole from the beginning to the end. The person who thought of it is a genius.
Cion: Kazu, you sounded a bit like Futaba there, no?
Futaba: No, wait! Cuc-san was crying a bit during Go My Own Way too, right?
Cuc: Cuc was sweating a bit from the eyes too… Chest tightened… Cuc wanted to stand on that stage too!
Taiyou: I get that. It's super fun to watch and cheer, but we want to be on that stage too.
Rey: That is a given. This live served as a painful reminder that standing on that glittering stage is a way of giving back to the fans who have supported us.
Cion: Let's work even harder so that we can be on the same stage someday.
Mio: Yeah! Next time, they’ll be waving their penlights for us!
Futaba: I will be on stage with you while also wanting to support you all, so I will learn the art of alter egos!
Taiyou: (Laugh) You’ve set the bar high for yourself! Alright, we’ll see you in the next issue!

notes: 黄色い声 (kiiroi koe) does directly translate to “yellow voices,” which is why cuc gets mixed up, but it’s an expression meant to convey loud, high-pitched, and happy voices, since yellow is usually associated with joy 💛
